Not Keepin' Up

That's right, I'm clearly not keepin' up, if my year long break from blogging is any indication. So much of my life has changed since I last posted; I'm not even sure where to begin. I guess I'll start with my life changer, sweet Baby Jax! Jaxon James Hand born Feb 21, 2013 at 7lbs 5oz and 21 inches long...what a cutie!

Jaxon was one of 4 babies born this year on the Engebrits' side of the family. Angela & Frank had Jacob David,  John & Susanne with Davis Roman, and sweet Iris entered was born to Nick and Sara.

Summer was low key, but kept us going. We went to the beach as much as possible ( a few times a week). We swam a lot with friends. The girls started tennis lessons with Uncle Frank and took on-line piano lessons (don't ask- I was delusional & sleep deprived when I came up with the idea).

Then summer ended and life got put on a very tight schedule, which included Lila starting Kindergarten and Keeva entering the 2nd grade.  We walk each morning to school to avoid traffic and get a little fresh air while it's still nice out.

Summer Heat Extremes

This blazing summer heat has got to go! I can hardly stand it, and not just because I am pregnant; I would feel annoyed with this heat REGARDLESS! For example, it's 11pm right now and I am sitting in the living room with all of my windows open, including my sliding glass door, a fan pointed directly at me while wearing a tank and booty shorts...it's just not right! AND, I can't stop eating watermelon! Sheesh, it's a hot one!

Anyway, we are pretty much living in the pool this summer; we usually spend 4-6 hours per day swimming. The girls love every moment of it and I love how tired they are at the end of each day; it's a win/win!

This was from the summer of 2012...I forgot to finish and post it; can't remember over a year ago, so just posting.    The previous post is from the end of summer 2012...not sure why I posted it at the beginning of summer 2013; oh well

End of Summer

Summer is almost over and I am totally sad! Keeva starts 1st grade in 2 weeks and I am beside myself...how can she be old enough for 1st grade? Why does she ask me so many questions that seem totally beyond her years? Is she really into fashion already? Is she really THIS sassy? How can I stop my baby from learning too much too quickly? How can I teach her all she needs to know about this totally mixed up world we live in? How am I going to survive her teen years???? Praise Jesus, I am not in charge of figuring out all of these answers on my own! I have given my girls totally over to the Lord and as a parent, I pray that He continually guides me in parenting and loving my girls each and every day! Praise you Lord, praise you! Here are a few pictures from this summer's excitement!
